The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 情节不错，小朋友看也很紧张，里面也会有深层次的道理在。但是就是以现在的眼光来看，特效方面也就与小铃铛相当，即使70年代的道具都还原得不错。
一边却又看哭了是咋回事……😥
第一次带着娃去看电影，以她的尺度，有紧张到想跑的时候，也有感动落泪的时候。大人看的也开心
我觉得不是很好看，但我不确定孩子会不会喜欢。这就是最可悲的地方：我已经不知道现在孩子的口味是什么了。
还有就是…抠图成像的技术不太行………
还好后面挽救回来了，火灾那里还是有点感人的
就算是改编的电影，也能感受到当时小说里的温馨
这要是二十年前拍的，还行。都2021年了，造型复古，不代表水平复古啊。水平差太多了。态度表扬，技术夸不出口。只能庆幸还好没有花钱看。不值啊。
童年的两个奇人～挺好看的！和娃一起看，真不错，好好陪伴！
虽然最后也被上尉感动到。但火太假，每个人物都很僵化，孩子成人化，没有孩子应有的趣味性。儿童片也不能拍成木偶片啊，最后一升华就完事收工大吉。国产片什么时候能拍得自然，人物自然，事件自然，情感自然，就上一个档次了。此片最大的作用就是让我想起了我曾经看过喜欢过郑渊洁童话。仅此而已。

时代背景应该是九十年代，也就是八零后上小学的年代，所以与其说是儿童电影，还不如说是八零后的怀旧电影，特别能勾起八零后对儿时的怀念。
啊童年回忆杀！！虽然有些演技有点尬，人物也有点浮夸，但是有童年滤镜啊！有友情和勇气，还有批判性的探讨，我可以原谅这些不完美……后面高潮部分甚至还想掉眼泪。感动。我好爱鲁西西哦，还有亲爱的罐头小人们
我和女儿都觉得好看，不止于情怀。庆幸还有不忘初心的导演愿意拍这样的电影，期待郑渊洁先生的作品被更多出品人和导演关注并搬上大银幕
虽然剧情比较低幼，而且特效一般，但不妨碍它是一部寓教于乐的片子。电影难能可贵的保留了郑渊洁童话里的荒诞喜剧和讽刺批判，在一众不知所云的儿童片中很是出彩，算是比较大胆说事的儿童片。
童年经典还是留在记忆里比较美好，它就留在上世纪那个点看着我们前行就好了。何必拉出来赶鸭子上架，拙劣的鞭尸……
舒克和贝塔入坑，也喜欢上了皮皮鲁鲁西西两兄妹，当然还有罐头小人们..虽然本片没有原著那么精彩，但能够在这个年纪在荧幕上看到童年回忆也确实是难能可贵的，就冲这波回忆杀，三星也给定了。
朋友，义务教育，你的老师不能遇到啥事儿都口口声声开除你。朋友，你那对小胳膊那点儿小劲儿在绳子上是不可能挂住的，如果没有消防员叔叔上来接你，最好不要作死，因为童话里真的是骗人的。(全片只有田雨一个人在演电影，别人都在演舞台剧，尤其那个明明得了狂躁症却非要说是胃病的妈)
之前记得有8分？没啥看头，童话不童话，没感动，鸡汤也不好喝。好久没吃生蚝了，边吃生蚝边看还是挺开心的，毕竟生蚝好吃。
罐头小人则太成熟，熟到不能再熟。甚至太老。
