The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 确实就是观察者网（美国）拍的，解构性基本就在即将马上无铲大联合的状态，不过从吐槽角度来看，它的另外面相也不会有那么强的效果，只是腔调让人厌恶而已。
精彩！比don't look up好看的多。现实总是如此黑暗。
没有2020去死讽刺力度大，但还是回顾了一下主要的点
整体来说很不错，我很喜欢，但不认为适合所有人，大多围绕美国，切笑点也比较美式，玩梗的方式不一定谁都理解。
伪纪录片，一本正经地胡说八道，结合真实案例，不知道若干年后，看到这部电影的美国人民会不会觉得自家老祖宗们有点缺心眼儿？
呃奈飞打算搞大流行定番？梦幻联动《Don’t Look Up》（不，一样用大牌演烂梗一箩筐，跟2020不好笑的原因一样，大多数段子写得太温和了，根本不讽刺，尤其喜剧表演真的干不过现实本身，用演员情景重现真的不如直接拿原新闻素材剪辑；不过，地球何时停止发牢骚这个part还是稍微有点好笑；整体来说，依赖喜剧来抵抗糟糕的现实上，本年度还没诞生最佳喜剧，大家都还没能从应激状态里爬出来。
請每年來一部，直到彗星撞地球，哈哈哈哈。

三星半，一点也不闷很快就看完了。算是科普外壳小甜剧了。选角简直是大成功，男女主真的颜值完全契合，演技毫不违和，觉得电影里他俩天造地设。
这个系列要拍下去啊！人们如何才能同时拥有戴口罩的自由和不戴口罩的自由，是这个系列的内核了
唯一有趣的一句“我们这代人的伍德斯托克”。
