The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 套着三流喜剧谍战片外壳的凯奇演艺跌宕史，凯奇的演技和以往的情怀撑起了整部片子。作为凯奇的回归作品，尚可看，期待凯奇后续的作品
稍微有点遗憾，以为会有更多调侃凯奇的部分，虽然有但是还是差点意思。台词和镜头的致敬也不是很多，更多只是提一提凯奇之前电影的名字就完事儿了。不过凯奇的演技是真的不错，特别是那个精神分裂的凯奇，每次都非常有笑果。
这种设定一个明星一辈子就玩一次，尼古拉斯凯奇怎么就给了这个剧本，浪费啊，就算加入绑架特工套路是电影里自己吐槽的“预告片看点”，剩下的迷影部分也完全不真诚
及格分吧，前半段设定非常老套，非常政治正确。后半段又完全没有逻辑且不在节奏上。估猜是凯奇和私生饭导演躲到西班牙海岛上闭关嗑嗨了整出来的剧本。这么一想又行为艺术般地完美地呼应了电影情节。。。凯奇叔真是宝藏啊
还算挺欢乐。虽总是说廉颇老矣，但也要看看那时候跟凯奇搭戏的都是谁啊？康纳利、特拉沃尔塔、马尔科维奇、甜心瑞恩等等，没他们凯奇也没这么神说真的。这次好在有亲王“抬桩”，囧傻呆萌一起胡闹，不然也好不到哪儿去。1080P 22/06/07
凯奇叔拍了这么多年烂片终于还完了欠债，然后就搞出来了这么一个一本正经地瞎胡闹的有趣片子。凯奇叔自己演自己，剧情也是自己套自己（虽然第三幕真的太弱了）——对自己经典电影的引用无比密集对自己拍烂片的自嘲就有多密集，结合起来就是一边看着拍腿狂笑一边又心酸这么多年的起起落落。今年四月能看到《妈的多重宇宙》和这部电影，真的是太让人满足了。

是对自己的致敬，也是向外界的表达。还完债，尼古拉斯·凯奇又重回巅峰。
7.3分。虽然自己不是凯奇的忠实粉丝，也不是90年代动作电影分忠实粉丝，但是抛去粉丝滤镜来看，仍然是一部非常不错的电影。凯奇的自嘲首先就决定了这部电影无可替代，然后就是和佩德罗·帕斯卡的化学反应，让我想起了我小时候也喜欢一个人模仿一些电影里的场景，今天也是。可惜我没能找到另一个陪我一起演戏的人，尽管我曾经认为我找到了……
两个演员都好帅的，剧本还是挺套路，本来以为会更疯一点
过于粉丝向，让凯奇自己演自己，破次元地对当初拍出不少优秀作品的年轻凯奇致敬，所呈现出来的效果的确不差，至少《疯狂原始人2》那段成功把我逗笑了。同时毛病也非常大，前半段对“非凯奇不可，凯奇独一无二”的一切铺垫，我在后半段的犯罪戏里完全没有看到。凯奇化个妆，就像《魔幻时刻》的设定一样打算凭借演员的实力去欺骗反派，结果没几分钟凯奇的伪装就被识破了。这段冗长的犯罪戏极其难看，跟整部电影的主题完全对不上，是脱节的。在这里面我没有见识到凯奇炉火纯青的演技，有的仅仅是对今非昔比的自嘲罢了。
还挺喜欢俩人入戏那段的，墙边诀别很好笑；家庭线虽然笔墨最多，但…。网红电影好喜欢这种万花筒海报啊
天才与疯子只在一念之间，相当于凯奇宇宙的一次年终总结吧，尼古拉斯凯奇本色出演尼古拉斯凯奇就是最大的亮点，疯狂吐槽自己的人生，把能玩的梗都玩一遍，但是没能延伸出更多的凯奇状态，于是乎才发现，这部电影的可看性和趣味性也就这么点了。
有点失望，并不是为凯奇量身打造的剧本，换个演员改改剧情依然没差。

自己演自己的尼古拉斯·凯奇~说真的其实凯奇的演技一直挺好的~一段时间里烂片虽然多，但那是片子不行，演技一直没问题啊~至于这部~搞笑度还可以~重点是自己演自己~而且还和现实那么像。其实最好的是结尾，毕竟我看到时候就觉的绑架戏太突兀太不合适了~然后结尾这种感觉就消失了~当然可以有其他的理解，但按我的理解那就是向市场妥协的剧情！话说现如今的海报流行这种风格么？和瞬息全宇宙的风格好像啊~
可以说是美国版喜剧之王吧。尼古拉斯凯奇自己调侃自己烂片之王，在欠债还清一身轻松之时，终于拿这些经历凑出一部自己的电影梗满满的作品集之作。奈何故事最大的败笔和脱节是强加进去的特工间谍绑架类内容，不过不用担心，关于这些电影里也说了这些会破坏故事，甚至两个人大吵一架，大概是告诉我们说，你看问题我都懂但没办法啊我的故事总得有个主线有个预告片爆点吧，你将就着看这些，其他情怀要素演技铺陈我都没欠你们的啊。喜剧之王里最脱节的也恰恰是卧底内容，可以说极其的相似，也都因为这一层身份，让故事得以有效收尾，毕竟真要是单纯拍两个人怎样制作一部电影顺带回溯过去，大部分人还是会觉得特别无聊吧。
PS:很欣慰cage大叔也爱Paddington2，希望他可以参演Paddington3🐻
打破了荧幕界线，算是不错的尝试，但剧情无论是深度还是趣味性都略显不足。
